Vintage ads are an interesting way to look back at American pop culture history. Whether unintentionally funny, cheesy, or in this case, sexist, vintage ads are an entertaining look back at the past. American society, in terms of being sexist, has certainly come a long way since ads like these were prevalent. Or has it?

Yeah, one look at those Dacron polyester pants and I’m just a doormat! Hilarious and tragic all at once.

As someone who lived through some of this…the answer was (finally) women’s lib.
BTW, what about the ads today that make all of us out to be about 12 yrs old with a 65 IQ? Somehow ads always seem to address us as inferior, stupid or not-good-enough, have you noticed? Alternately, they sell sex in some way.
I quit watching them. In fact, I quit watching tv except for very select shows every now and then. There are some good things on but most of it is garbage.
